This post will be relatively short compared to the standard “India” posts I’ve been putting up. But the next post will focus on the Taj Mahal and the trip to Agra…and there’s already too many photographs there. So let this one be brief, a quick one before I overwhelm you…and myself. We spent the night before Agra visiting families. Joseph’s accountant invited us to the home of her family and we accepted.

Should you ever visit families in India, be forewarned that it is an experience. Hospitality runs in their blood. I would recommend not eating before you venture out, as you will be provided a wide range of dishes at each house. And you will be expected to take thirds. Eat slowly with small bites. That’s my strategy. Then you can continue eating, because if you stop, they’ll think you’re not feeling well, or the food isn’t good, or you’re dying.

While driving around, we were fortunate to catch a glimpse of a peacock. The species is the national bird of India and many laws protect its existence. Basically, don’t expect to find a peacock burger in India…or as Mat put it…well, I won’t repeat how I heard him say it. Just imagine what you would hear if you caught the last part of “peacock burger.”
